About the Management
Brad Gupta began his investment career, through various limited liability companies, as a principal in real estate in 1990. His first investment in aviation assets was in 1999. He founded Leading Edge Finance Corporation in 2007 as a real estate and aviation management company and throughout his career he has been involved as an employee, advisor and principal in transactions valued in excess of $1 billion.
From 2005 through 2013, Mr. Gupta was retained special advisor to New York-based hedge fund Marathon Asset management, which had approximately $12.5 billion of capital under management during his tenure. He was an integral part of the growth of the company's aviation investment portfolio. Prior to Marathon, Mr. Gupta held principal positions in four commercial jets leased to U.S. Airways and Continental Airlines, and one widebody aircraft engine leased to United Technologies Corporation, through other companies he formed.
From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Gupta served as Director of Aviation Marketing for Residual Based Finance Corporation, an aircraft and rail lessor. Previously, he held corporate finance and treasury positions with United Airlines, Amoco Production Company, Shearson Lehman Hutton, Inc., and Weyerhaeuser Company. He earned an A.B. (Honors) from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
